An MBA graduate, Yogesh, who started his professional career with Rajasthan Patrika Group, advises youngsters to have good communication skills to make themselves fit for the media industry.

Yogesh Nagda is a marketer at Rajasthan Patrika Group with a rich and diverse 15-year experience.

Yogesh started his professional career with the Rajasthan Patrika group itself and today looks after various verticals, including but not limited to print media, FM radio, multimedia, etc. He is a B.Sc. and MBA graduate. After his MBA, he wanted to do something different. That’s when he stumbled upon the media industry.

He recollects how he developed a fondness for reading newspapers every day at an early age. He was always intrigued and curious about how news is collected and disseminated. With all this collectively in mind, he started exploring how to make a career in the media industry and hence landed a job at Rajasthan Patrika Group.

Advising the youngsters, Yogesh shares that people who are keen on making a career in the media industry should take relevant courses. There are numerous courses that the government and universities offer, and thus they can make themselves relevant for the industry.

Besides this, if one has good communication skills and knows how to convey information, one can create videos, post them on various digital media platforms, and leverage them.

Yogesh says one’s background shouldn’t be a constricting factor in achieving one’s goals. He himself comes from a rural background, and his poor knowledge of English created initial hiccups, but he overcame them with determination. He advises the same to all who come from less privileged backgrounds.

He says that to start a career, education is required, but it’s the experiences that you gain thereafter that take you ahead in life.

Yogesh considers his mother his biggest support system and is glad to have always followed her advice.

If Yogesh could go back in time and undo something, he would want to be a government teacher because his father always wished to see him as a teacher.

Yogesh has a sweet tooth and likes to munch on sweets. During his free time, he likes to play cricket with his son. On Sundays, he likes to visit temples with his family.
