Smart people learn from everything and everyone.
Yogesh Acharya is a teacher at Abhinav Senior Secondary School.
Yogesh was born in Mavli village. He studied and completed his primary education at Vidya Bharati Upper Primary School. Growing up, he faced many challenges in life due to problems in education and a dearth of good facilities. Despite his struggles, he topped his board examination. After this, he shifted to Udaipur in 2010.
Upon receiving a scholarship, he completed a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in engineering from Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar. However, despite these good opportunities that came his way due to hard work, he was not so passionate about the technical field.
Initially, Yogesh faced language problems as he originally belonged to a Hindi-medium school and self-taught English during his B.Tech. Eventually, he secured a good command of the language, and higher studies did not seem difficult. Subsequently, he decided to pursue a career in teaching. He joined Abhinav School as a senior teacher and never looked back.
Yogesh has many fond childhood memories of his native village. However, his family’s financial problems, coupled with the fact that his mother faced medical issues, motivated him to do something in life.
Sharing his pandemic experience, Yogesh says that, according to him, COVID had a negative impact in terms of money and finance. However, on the positive side, he shares that he had enough time to spend with his family.
When asked about his role models, Yogesh says he draws inspiration from his father, who was a teacher and headmaster of a government school and always put the welfare of his students first. Yogesh wants to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a better and more respected teacher.
Yogesh believes that a teacher is the role model for students, and they must lead and educate children by example. One should motivate students and help them learn interactively while also maintaining discipline. A teacher has an innate leadership quality; he feels that teachers are responsible for the behavior of their class. First and foremost, one should try to maintain punctuality and other good values in one’s own life before advocating and reinforcing such values in children.
Yogesh likes playing cricket during his free time. He devotes his free time to educating himself as well.
If he could turn back time, he would bring his father back to life. He was very grief-stricken when he passed away, and he blames himself partly for not being by his side due to preparations for government examinations.
Be determined and achieve your own dreams, says Yogesh, who wants to help society positively and make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged.
