Yogendra Saini is a Livestock Assistant in the Animal Husbandry Department. He has immense compassion and love for animals and feels joy in his work. He credits the constant support of his friends and family for completing his studies and getting a job in the veterinary field.

Yogendra has been working as an LSA for the past one and half years. Before that, he did private-sector jobs. He thinks that he is getting good experience by working in Animal Husbandry. He feels an inner joy and satisfaction when he treats and saves a pet or a stray animal.

Yogendra completed his high school from his hometown and his intermediate studies from Sikhad. Later he moved to Udaipur to pursue veterinary studies. His brother, who has been in this profession for the last ten years, is his inspiration. Yogendra thinks that humans can express their pains and problems and can get treatment quickly. But with animals, one needs to study their symptoms and treat them accordingly. So, he feels pride in treating and saving animals.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Yogendra could not return to his hometown for almost five to six months. He constantly served in hospitals and treated animals even during the periods of lockdown. He gave treatment advice on phone calls and also gave door-to-door treatment.

Talking about his struggling days, he says that his friends and family have been his ultimate support and motivators in tough times. Remembering the days of his coaching institute in Jaipur, he says, “my friends supported me by studying along with me when I lost interest and focus.”

For aspiring vets, he advises compassion and love for animals as a must. He admits that veterinary is a good field with lots of money if one is committed and works hard.

During his free time, he likes to read books and journals. Moreover, if he gets free time in the hospital, he usually studies and prepares for the Rajasthan Civil Services. He wishes to achieve much more in his career and wants to be a successful man.

If given a chance to travel back in time, he wants to relive his carefree childhood days. His advice to the youth is, “Study until your target is not met. Utilise your adulthood to get a good job, and then you can enjoy the rest of your life with the fruits of your success.”
