Yashwant Sahu hails from Udaipur. His interests lie in cinematography, filmmaking, and video editing.

After completing his schooling, he enrolled in an animation course. During this course, he learned the nuances of filmmaking and video editing. After completing this course, he made a couple of 3D films with his team. Later, he came in contact with a cinematographer. Meeting him developed an interest in him toward making movies. He worked on many short films. His short film, Maktoob, got international acclaim. Later he was contacted by a Mumbai-based film director, and he worked on many more exciting projects. Yashwant always got the support of his parents, who always encouraged him to do what he loved to do.

Talking about challenges in his life, Yashwant says that challenges are a part of everyone’s life. We should not care about them and keep moving.

Yashwant is of the opinion that education and experience are both important in life. Without education, you will not be given many opportunities and it will be challenging for you to grow in your life.

Yashwant feels that cinematography is not an easy job. It comes with a lot of responsibility. You have to know when to take a shot, at what angle, and in what lighting conditions.

To anyone who wants to be a cinematographer, Yashwant advises that the film industry has a good future. It gives many opportunities. If you have talent then you will surely thrive in this industry. Besides, you should work with people who are already in the industry and learn the nuances of filmmaking and cinematography.

Yashwant would still want to be in the film industry even if given a chance to go back in time and choose another career option. He is content with it as he is doing what he loves to do.

Yashwant believes that it’s very important to take a break from your work periodically and pursue what you love. All work and no play will make you a dull person. To unwind, Yashwant likes to travel and go on rides.
