Yash Mahawar is a dancer and choreographer. He has been in the dance field since 2009. He does choreography in schools and looks after his academy, too.
Yash was born and brought up in Delhi. He did his M.A. from IGNOU University. He never thought of making dance his career. His family was always against dance.
Sharing about his childhood experience, Yash says that he always wanted to learn to dance. But due to his family's strictness, he was not doing it openly. He used to observe other students and was inspired by the lights, dresses and shows performed by them. He remembers that once in 11th grade, at a school function, his friends suddenly called him on the stage to perform a Punjabi dance. He went on the stage hesitatingly but he felt proud after performing the dance and felt confident that he could dance on stage.
Talking about his journey into the field of dance, Yash says that during his college days, he joined a cultural group and learned new forms of dance. He conducted many workshops on dance and did many shows.
Regarding struggles in his life, Yash says that he faced many financial problems due to which he could not participate in India Talent Show and many other shows which would have built a big profile in his career. Also, he faced many social and family objections but now he is doing well and earning nicely.
When asked about role models in his life, Yash says that he considers his parents as his role models.
Apart from dancing, Yash likes to play cricket in his free time.
Sharing his achievements, Yash says that in 2016, he represented India in a dance show in China which was his biggest achievement.
Advising everyone, Yash says that we should never stop moving forward in our careers. He suggests being confident and believing in ourselves.
