Yamlesh’s inquisitiveness brought him to the field of computers where he continues to provide his technical assistance.

Yamlesh Kumar is a Technical Assistant in the Department of Computer Science at SS College of Engineering.

Born in Dariba Mines near Udaipur, he completed his schooling there till 10th standard and his senior secondary at Fateh School, Udaipur. Before coming to SS College, Yamlesh worked at Pacific University for eight years where he learnt to assemble computer parts and his curiosity launched him to the world of computers. He performs computer networking tasks, lab maintenance, assists in online examinations and deals with computer hardware and software issues at SS college of Engineering.

Yamlesh shares that when he initially started, he wasn’t that experienced and found it difficult to connect the dots. However, his self-initiative and proactiveness helped him get into this field. He wishes to open a computer business of his own in the future.

During the lockdown, he shares that the college staff supported him and he gives due credit to his parents for whatever he has become today. Yamlesh remembers the values inculcated in him by his parents, especially his mother who always encouraged him to chase his goal to succeed in life.

In his free time, Yamlesh likes to watch YouTube videos on motherboard and computer assembling. He also likes to roam around with his friends and listen to some good music.

Yamlesh shares one of his childhood memories where he was pushed into a lake by someone and did not know how to swim. That is when a good samaritan came to his rescue and saved him and feels that he would not have been alive had that person not been there to save him.

If he could go back in a time machine, he would like to relive his school days. Yamlesh’s success mantra lies in his mother’s advice which is to keep chasing your goal.
