Yaminee chose textile engineering to support people from her community and generate employment opportunities for them.

Yaminee Panwar is from Nathdwara, Rajsamand. She did her B.Tech. in Textile Engineering from Bhilwara and is currently working as a Quality Assurance Officer at BSL Limited, Bhilwara.

Coming from a community of textile engineers, Yaminee chose textiles to further give impetus and support to people from her community. She decided to study and become an entrepreneur to generate job opportunities for her people.

Recalling her childhood, Yaminee remembers her days spent in Jodhpur, her grandparents’ home, wherein she enjoyed a lot with her brother. Yaminee was very fond of dancing, for which she also won a prize.

When asked about her role models, Yaminee says she draws inspiration from her brother and her father. She is grateful to her parents for giving her enough liberty to travel for work, which led her to many opportunities. Yaminee is thankful to her brother, who guided and mentored her to choose the right career for herself.

Sharing her pandemic experience, Yaminee says that she had just joined a new company in Bhilwara two months before the COVID struck.  She also faced financial issues owing to a 25% cut in her salary every month. Yaminee spent most of the lockdown with her roommate in Bhilwara.

Yaminee advises the youth to choose a particular field of their choice and to never sail in two boats. She goes on  to say that they should value time and be punctual in order to be successful. Yaminee says that youngsters should also listen to their elders.

Yaminee believes in time management and keeping her personal and professional lives separate. She also believes in treating everyone equally, especially her subordinates, in her professional life.

If Yaminee could go back in a Time Machine, she would like to pursue chemical engineering at one of the IITs. She would also revisit her school life and relive those precious days with her friends.

In her free time, Yaminee likes to cook, dance, and draw sketches. She also helps the poor whenever given an opportunity.
