A corporate banker and a trainer, Waseem helps and guides people to find solutions to their personal and professional life problems through her training and coaching.

Waseem Abdullah Shaikh is a corporate banker, a life transformation coach, and an author. She has experience of twenty-three years working in corporate banking.

Waseem says that she has gone through many phases in her corporate banking journey. She says working in the corporate field is not easy, many times stress and challenges have to be faced.

After playing many roles in the corporate banking field over the years, Waseem started thinking about which role she would adopt after retirement. During that thim, she came to know about the training and coaching given by Arfeen Khan. During the COVID period, she got a chance to attend Arfeen’s online sessions. Waseem says that these sessions with Arfeen Khan proved to be life-changing for her. She realized she could also transform people's lives with her experience and knowledge, and she decided to take up a new role as a Life Transformation coach.

Recalling her childhood, Waseem says that she grew up in both the United Arab Emirates and Mumbai. It impacted her personality a lot and she has developed into a confident individual because of her upbringing.

When asked about her role models, Waseem says she does not consider any specific person as her role model, but she sees her life as her inspiration. She started her career as a receptionist when she was only eighteen years old. She used to work and study simultaneously. Gradually, she developed herself as a professional and an expert in the field of corporate banking. She says that in her professional journey, she met many people from whom she learned so much.

Speaking about her achievements, Waseem says she comes from a middle class family where all her family members are very hardworking . She also started her career at a very young age as a credit analyst in the banking field. Then she learned everything on her own. She couldn't pursue postgraduate studies because she got married and had family responsibilities to take care of. But she continued her professional journey, developing her skills and knowledge of corporate banking. Initially, she used to get ignored due to her lack of professional degrees. The scenario changed when her work experience, knowledge, and skills started speaking for her.

When asked whether education or experience is more important, Waseem says she feels that one must plan their education as per their choice of field. She says education helps you start with a good company at the entry level. But ultimately, your knowledge and skills will play a key role in your progress. Experience makes you more mature professionally.

If she gets a chance to go back in time via a time machine, Waseem would go back and pursue a master's degree.

Waseem's message to the youth is that they should not keep things for the last hour. They should plan their future, believe in themselves, analyze the whole path to achieve their goals, and organize their efforts according to it. She also says the youth should plan their career progression and personal life progression simultaneously, as both go hand in hand.
