Vivek Patidar is an MCA student in Udaipur.
Originally from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, Vivek completed his schooling there itself before pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Applications in Jaipur, graduating in 2021. Post his BCA, he joined Deloitte as an analyst in Bangalore for a year, from 2021 to 2022, and is currently pursuing his MCA in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Vivek says that having grown up as a child in a village, he spent his formative years in a hostel in Ratlam, with fond memories of summer vacations spent in his village. One of his vivid memories involves an amusing fall from a tree, after which his grandmother saved him from being scolded by his father while friends teased him.
His career journey kicked off during the COVID-19 period while he was in his second year of BCA. He did a one-month internship, which turned out to be a valuable learning experience. Subsequently, he secured a placement at Deloitte, where he served as an analyst and contributed to diverse projects. He mainly focused on developing the backend of a hospital management system. He then undertook an important US government project related to COVID-19 claims with a team and a six-month deadline. His involvement in hospital management backend work continued, followed by his role as a Java backend developer.
Reflecting on his tough times, Vivek recalls the time of his first internship during the COVID period. Shifting to his village posed a challenge due to the lack of high speed internet facilities there. To overcome this, he used to do clever hacks like elevating his phone for better connectivity. Joining Deloitte remotely presented another hurdle, as his village lacked the required 100mbps internet. To overcome this, he commuted daily to his friend’s house for work. This was further complicated by limited transportation options.
Additionally, he started a YouTube channel for teaching. However, producing videos in the village was difficult due to the absence of proper equipment. Yet, his resourcefulness prevailed as he found ways to stabilize his phone using boxes and bricks. Despite the obstacles, he managed to create over 200 videos in just six months. He has now transitioned to a new YouTube channel with improved conditions.
Vivek says that he joined Deloitte because he was impressed by Deloitte's motto, "Impact That Matters" .
He looks up to his father, impressed by his calmness, problem-solving skills, and strong work ethics. His advice to young people emphasizes embracing feedback and accepting challenges for growth. He underlines the value of experience over education, and says he believes real-world skills often stem from practical encounters rather than academic excellence.
Reflecting on his college days, Vivek acknowledges that skill development surpasses academic achievements in real-world scenarios. He urges students to focus on acquiring skills, rather than solely pursuing high CGPAs and perfect attendance records. Despite his commitment to academics, his YouTube channel and teaching endeavors stand as significant achievements.
Vivek's achievements span representing his city in football during 10th grade, topping his school in 11th grade, achieving consistent excellence throughout his BCA years, and securing a coveted position at Deloitte.
In his free time, Vivek enjoys football, yoga, and singing, humorously referring to himself as a "bathroom singer."
Encouraging the youth, Vivek advocates exploring different paths to discover one's true passions and purpose.
