Vishwavijay Singh Jhala is a Hotelier who manifested his dreams into reality through hard work and passion. Vishwavijay is a story of passion, persistence, dedication, and hard work.

Vishwavijay Singh Jhala belongs to Jhadol and owns Durgapur Safari Hotel in Jhadol and Jhadol Udaivilas in Udaipur. He also runs a restaurant named Whistling Teal in Udaipur.

Vishwavijay was born in Udaipur in 1979 but completed his schooling in Indore. He did his graduation in Economics from Pune and started preparing for Civil Services. Although he didn’t get through the examinations, he did learn a lot of things about himself and life. In 2011, he returned to Udaipur and thought of doing a business.  At the age of twenty-four, he got married and at the same time, he got the idea of developing Jhadol.

Vishwavijay didn’t belong to a business family, and thus had no one to guide him in the field of hotel and tourism. He started with a restaurant in  Udaipur in his garden, with the name ‘Whistling Teal’. The name was connected to his native place since whistling teal birds are found in Jhadol.

In 2007, he started a Day’s Safari to Jhadol from his restaurant. In 2009, he got his first group of Canadian Students to take the Safari Trip and stay in Jhadol for almost a month. Later, in 2010, he started getting lots of Gujarati tourists to his Safari Hotel in Jhadol and the business flourished. In the same year, Vishwavijay took a bank loan and developed his Safari Hotel in Jhadol. Then, in 2017, he started a Hotel project in Udaipur and by 2019 the Jhadol Udaivilas was completed.

Vishwavijay believes that the initial five years in every individual’s life are the struggling years. He faced these struggling years in the first half of his twenties. Lack of business knowledge and critical comments and lack of support from family at some points in time were part of those struggles. However, with a young mind, his parents’ blessings and support, he overcame those tough times and flourished into a successful Hotelier.

Vishwavijay’s father is her role model because he has learned to do hard work with passion and dedication from him. He has taught him to do every work with dignity and respect. Secondly, his wife is his greatest support system and has been with him through thick and thin.

Vishwavijay believes that practical knowledge combined with education yields better results.

Vishwavijay wishes to relive his innocent school days if he gets a Time Machine. Being the eldest child, he became responsible from a very young age, thus he wants to relive his innocent school days.

Vishwavijay advises aspiring hoteliers to never settle for the glamorous part of the industry. He advises them to have a better hold on the backstage work and staff management. He feels that one needs to learn and do all kinds of work in the industry to be a successful hotelier.

When free, Vishwavijay invests in fitness and exercises, music, and lately, he’s been learning the flute. He believes in challenging himself to lead an interesting life.

Vishwavijay always took critical comments in a positive sense and grew from them. He believes in doing things with passion and overcoming limitations. He believes that one should never do anything to hurt others and keep a positive approach in life.
