Vishal Soni is the owner of “Krishna Jewellers” in Pushkar. He has been running his shop for the past fifteen years.
Vishal was born and raised in a small village, Kekri and spent his entire childhood there. After receiving his school education, he went to Goa to do a silver jewellery making course. Then he started his journey in the field of jewellery making.
Vishal describes his struggling period and says he comes from a village background and was not accustomed to fluent English communication. His brother constantly stood by him and pushed him to pick up English so he could converse with customers from different countries, as well as understand the intricacies of the business.
When asked about his role models, Vishal says he considers his father and his elder brother as his role models.
Sharing his COVID experience, Vishal says that as most of his customers were already online, he didn't have to face any particularly difficult times during the lockdown. He and his family did assist others who were in need at the time. He enjoyed the lockdown as well, getting to spend quality time with his family.
When asked whether education or experience is more important, Vishal says education helps one understand the nuances of the field and develop communication skills.
If he gets the opportunity to go back in time via a time machine, Vishal says he would go back to his childhood and relive that wonderful time in a better way.
Vishal advises the younger generation to be fearless, to strive for their goals, and to never give up.
Vishal’s life mantra is - “Always start your day with a new zeal and try to enjoy it even if the day is not going well.”
