Vishal is a singer, dancer, and guitarist who takes pride in teaching others the art, skill, and technique behind the world of dance and music.

Vishal Saini runs a dance studio called Moonwalk Dance and Music Academy. He is from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Vishal is a software engineer by education. He pursued his engineering at Sikkim Manipal University. Vishal says, as a child, he always enjoyed music and dance more as compared to academics. He was later advised by his martial arts teacher to start teaching music and dance.

Speaking about his challenges, Vishal shares that when he embarked on the journey of instrumental music, he was often laughed at by people around him. He goes on to say that creative professions like music and dance are often looked down upon by people and are not considered worthwhile. On the family front, even his parents and relatives didn’t trust him initially. However, Vishal didn’t let such opinions bog him down. As a result, today he is successfully running his academy, which has three branches.

Vishal advises aspiring artists to trust themselves and their talent enough to survive in such fields. He suggests they have a mentor and try to walk in their mentor’s footprints. Vishal goes on to say that it is important for budding artists to stay positive, keep learning and remain down-to-earth.

When asked about his role models, Vishal says he draws inspiration from the dance guru, Remo D'souza, and his friend, Rishi Arora.

Sharing his pandemic experience, Vishal shares that COVID had a negative impact on his profession, which came to a standstill. It was difficult for him to fulfill even the rent of his academy premises when he had no students coming in owing to the restrictions. Nonetheless, he didn’t lose heart and faced all the challenges head-on.

In his free time, Vishal likes to listen to music and ventures out to gain some peace and practise meditation.
