Vipul Jain hails from a village named Jhadol in Udaipur. He completed his schooling in his village itself. His father owned a grocery shop and would work hard to provide for his education and other necessities.
Vipul shares that he never suffered stage fright. At school, he would love to participate in cultural events and would do newspaper reading in morning assemblies. He never hesitated to speak in front of people. After completing high school, he too had conventional career choices like Medicine, Engineering or Chartered Accountancy to choose from. But he knew that he was good at none of them.
He came to Udaipur and enrolled in B.Com. at BN College. During his bachelors, he tried his hand at Anchoring. Under the guidance of a well-known anchor, he learned the nuances of Anchoring. Coming from a rural background his diction was not good and he worked on improving it. Later he also got to work as an anchor with one of the radio stations in the city. He also got to work with many well-known anchors and celebrities in Delhi and other big cities.
After a long-spanning career as an Anchor, in 2015, Vipul moved to Mumbai to try his hand at acting. He auditioned for an acting role, but his first-ever audition did not go well. But, he did not lose hope. He contacted some people in the acting industry there and was promised an acting role. Everyone in his family and village was happy that he would be seen on the TV soon. But to the utter dismay of everyone, he did not receive a call for the acting role which had been promised to him. He kept struggling and finally in 2016, he got an offer to act as a villain in a TV serial alongside a famous TV actress by the name Priya Raina. Later he also worked for Doordarshan and Channel V.
With an aim to explore further in life, in 2018, he founded his wedding planning and event management company – Dignity Events & Wedding Planners. Today he employs the same anchors whom he used to approach for work at his event management company.
Talking about struggles in his life, Vipul says that though he struggled a lot with regard to fulfilling his dreams, by the grace of God he always got his dues. He shares that he did not have a strong financial background. His father had a small shop. He would do some odd jobs like selling scratch coupons etc., during his summer breaks, but he always wanted to do something big and make his family proud of him. When he came to Udaipur for his bachelors, he stayed in a hostel, and for that his father had to provide for his expenses. Initially, he worked for free as an anchor at different events. He also traveled to different cities and survived tough and unfavorable conditions to anchor events. However tough situations may have been, he always faced them head-on. And today he has more than he could ever dream of and he is happy with his life.
To the youth, Vipul advises that there is no shortcut to success. It takes time for things to fall in place. You need to have dedication, patience, and perseverance to achieve your goals.
Talking about his role models, Vipul says that he has always admired the way his father worked and how despite all the odds in life, he did well for the family. Besides, as an anchor, he has also looked up to RJ Himanshu, Anchor Pradeep Pandey, RJ Kalpesh and Manish Paul - an Indian Television Presenter.
If he could go back in time, then Vipul would want to be a regular student at college and enjoy his college life. But he has no regrets in life and he is content with all the decisions he made.
In his spare time, he likes to be with his family and play with his little daughter. He also likes to go traveling with his wife.
Vipul thinks that he has had leadership qualities from a young age. At school, he would be the prefect of his classes. His leadership style is such that he likes to take everyone in the team along, respect them and give autonomy to his teammates to execute tasks.
To aspiring anchors, Vipul advises that you should never lose your calm and cool in this profession. It’s a very demanding profession but if you don’t lose your temper then you can do really well as an anchor.
