Having a vision to develop rural areas, Vinod took the initiative to start a school which facilitates government schemes to reach the poor. He has been in this field for the past 11 years.

Vinod Sharma runs a school and promotes different education schemes in his village. He wants to help students in rural areas achieve quality education and success.

Recalling his childhood, Vinod says that he comes from a middle-class family and lives in Sultanpur, Kota. He completed his senior secondary at a government school in his village, and then he did his graduation in Computer Science from Kota. After his graduation, he completed his M.Sc. in computer science in 2002. He always wanted to work in the civil service, but he could not, and therefore, he drifted toward learning computer science as he had a keen interest in the subject. After his studies, he thought he could make a career in the education sector and started teaching as a guest faculty member at a government school and a private college.

Vinod was also offered a chance to travel to Australia for a project, but he did not go despite having all his documents ready because the company demanded he stay away from his family for two and a half years. He says there are certain decisions in life that are very important and should be made very carefully. If he had chosen to go to Australia, he would not have earned the experience and knowledge that he has today. He learned the value of hard work.

Talking about challenges, Vinod says he faced many challenges in his career. However, inspired by his father, he never gave up on his goal.

Vinod says that he was guided by his former principal to use his education as a career, who helped him set up his school, Sunflower Education, in a rural area. His institute participates in various government schemes to provide skill development and distance education in the village. Since establishing his school and institute in 2009, Vinod has helped organize various projects in his villages, like the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, the Digital Saksharta Abhiyan, and the National Digital Literacy Mission. Presently, he is running an awareness program in the Digital Childhood Program initiated by the government. His institute is also a training partner with certain national and government-aided institutions.

Advising youngsters, Vinod says future planning is very important. People should know what they want to do in life and how they will do it. Most importantly, they should be guided in the right direction because he believes most students in rural areas are deprived of significant guidance. One should always be eager to learn and use technology in a good and useful way. Not everyone can move to the city to work, so people should make themselves capable enough to work even in the rural sector.

Vinod has taken on the responsibility of making internet facilities available in his area and the neighboring village. He says it is very important for rural people to have access to the internet, as the youth can learn a lot from it.

When asked about his role model, Vinod says all the credit for his success goes to his parents and his former principal. His role model in life is his father, who taught him to work hard and gave him the strength to face all his struggles. His father told him that even if people are talking about him in a negative way, then he must have something special, and it inspired him to keep working.

In his free time, Vinod indulges himself by listening to old music. He also loves to see the flowing water near his village. He says he cannot see someone in pain, so he always tries to help them when he has time.
