Vinod Kumar Sharma belongs to an impoverished family. His father was a farmer who always worked for the farmers community. Vinod studied in government school till 8th std. Growing up in a destitute family, he used to work as a labourer and alongside did his 10th and 12th privately from NIU Delhi. But he could not complete his graduation due to some reasons. He also gave the TET exam for teachers, but could not make it. Currently he is in a private job in Jaipur besides doing freelancing mechanical work. In the midst of his job, whenever he gets time, he also does social service.
Vinod runs an NGO called ‘Aatma Sansthan’ through which he inspires people about organic farming and does social work related to farming and agriculture. This institute has been registered since 1997 which does private projects as well as working on government projects.
Vinod was apprehensive about doing a job as everyone is doing it but not everyone thinks about taking a step ahead for society and its development. Hence, he thought of doing something for the country as his father used to inspire him to earn respect over money. Therefore, he chose to indulge himself in this field only because of his father’s inspiration.
Vinod tries to interact with farmers whenever he feels like, he tries to be connected and bonded with them by meeting them every now and then. He used to guide them about farming methods and processes although he could not help them financially but help them by giving solutions to problems. The donations received in the NGO would be utilized in the manner described by the trustees.
Vinod says his NGO has been associated with big institutions like Rotary Club and Vikas International Sansthan. Due to the support of such organisations, their NGO could grow bigger and support people.
During the pandemic, Vinod helped the poor families by distributing food, sanitizers and masks to them. He advises everyone to stay at home and be safe.
Vinod says that running a family is a big task for an independent and poor person who has to work hard to earn the bread and butter for his family. Even if contagious diseases are spreading, one has to step out and face them, otherwise the family would starve to death. Therefore, he has to work putting his life at stake to feed the family.
