Because of working in the BBC, he got an opportunity to meet Indian celebrities and started building his network in the Indian Film Industry.
Vinod says that he left his Civil Services job after serving for four years to make a Documentary. That documentary was a huge success and became a part of the British Film Institute’s world wide course for Filmmaking. Then he did various courses in filmmaking from a renowned filmmaking institute in Central London. That was the beginning of his foray in filmmaking, leaving his other jobs.
Talking about his struggles, Vinod says that his work as a Filmmaker was going well until the India-Pakistan war broke out. Its impact was seen everywhere around the world. Leaving behind his Acting and Filmmaking career, he had to find other sources to earn his livelihood. And so he set his foot in Commercial Ad Films and achieved success shortly. He shares that slowly his journey progressed towards making feature films from Ad Films. Soon his first film came out in the name ‘Ek Baar Phir’, which was shot in London. It became the most loved film of that time. After this great success in filmmaking, he returned to India and made his foray into the Television Industry. Before long, he was made the Chief Commissioning Editor and Director of Programs in a Television Channel called ‘Sahara.’ He kept on moving forward and achieved a lot in this field.
