Vinayak Singh Khichi is from Pali. His father is a loco pilot in the Indian Railways posted in Abu Road. Vinayak says that his entire childhood and education took place in Abu Road itself.
Vinayak shares that he was a meritorious student and topped in 10th standard in his school. He also got a chance to be Deputy Head Boy and Head Boy in his 11th and 12th standards and from there he got a chance to experience the feeling of being a leader and being in the limelight. He decided to go into a similar field which would offer him exposure and also bring fame and money. He narrowed it down to Mass Communication, but destiny had other plans for him.
Vinayak says that taking risks in career is not preferred by a middle-class family and his parents also did not want him to take any chances and decided on a safe path for him- Engineering.
Vinayak did his Mechanical Engineering from the Chartered Institute of Technology, Abu Road. During his engineering days, he came to know about anchoring through his teacher, Manju Modi, and started doing it part-time to earn pocket money for himself. However, it was like finding his calling and he never looked back after that. Vinayak says that he has been in this field now for the past three years.
Vinayak says that when he was in the last year of his college, COVID hit the world and all his events were canceled. He says that it did not affect him much but people who were only dependent on their creative skills like anchoring, singing, etc. had to suffer a lot.
Vinayak feels that in small towns like his, creative activities and career options are still not regarded as respectable options and are looked down upon. He says that getting that respect from everyone in his town is what he is working on. He shares that he is on a mission to create magical memories for mankind.
Vinayak advises aspirants of the field to be clear in their minds that this field is not as fancy as it looks from the front seat. He says that it takes a lot of effort backstage from understanding the audience, the feel, and creating the right content specific to them. It requires a lot of patience and there are no retakes in his field.
When asked about education and experience, Vinayak says that both have their respective places in life. Without education, one cannot get into jobs in the administrative fields or corporate world. However, fields like his do not require education but depend on experience and how many shows or events one has done.
Talking about leadership, Vinayak says that everyone needs a leader to guide them and help them in life. He says that as an anchor he is the leader of the event or the show he is hosting. It is his responsibility to navigate the event like a good leader.
Vinayak says that he learns from his mistakes and tries to better himself each day. He feels that we should learn from everyone around us as each one of us has some good qualities and traits to teach others. He feels that one should be their own inspiration in life.
Talking about achievements, Vinayak shares that he was awarded the ‘Most Popular Anchor’ award by Abutimes.com in 2019. Also, whenever he gets appreciation from his clients, he feels he has achieved something in life.
In his free time, he likes to travel a lot with his friends. He is also planning to start reading books and also joining a dance class. He calls himself a running freak and gets up early each day to follow it.
