Financial constraints showed Vinay many ups and downs in his life and then bad company drove him away from his dream of joining the Air Force. Eventually, he landed in the hotel industry and due to his dedication and hard work, he has earned a good name for himself.

Vinay Yadav is a Hotelier. Presently he is working as a General Manager at Padmini Bagh Resort in Udaipur. He entered this industry in 2006.

Vinay belongs to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He says that due to lack of financial strength at home, he started his career as soon as he finished his schooling. He did his Hotel Management from Udaipur. From working at a guest house to getting good opportunities to work at big brands of hotels and resorts like Labh Garh Resort, Inder Residency, Justa Sajjangarh, Jeevantara Resort and others, he has come a long way.

Vinay shares that he was just starting to touch the heights in his career when the hotel industry was badly hit by the COVID pandemic. This led him to shift his job to private properties and he ended up becoming a GM of Padmini Bagh Resort in Udaipur.

Describing his struggles, Vinay says that he faced a lot of favoritism in his professional journey and became a victim of workplace politics. In such an environment, it became very difficult for him to move forward in his career. Besides, he was a topper in his school time and wanted to join the Air Force. But he went astray due to associating with a bad company. As a result, he failed in his 12th grade and his entire career shifted into a different direction from joining the AirForce.

Sharing his COVID experience, Vinay says that he did a cleanliness drive in association with the municipality. Apart from this, the hotel’s junior staff was stuck here and there was no arrangement that they could go back to their hometowns. In such a condition, he personally took them to their homes after taking permission from the administration.

Between education and experience, Vinay believes that education is necessary but to do something big in life you need experience.

Regarding leadership, Vinay says he considers himself a born leader for having the ability to understand the emotions of people. Also, he prefers to work in a team rather than working as a boss.

If Vinay had a Time Machine, he would like to go back to the moment when he had an accident and prevent it from happening in order to fulfill his dream of joining the Air Force.

Advising the youth, Vinay says that instead of copying and following the actors and influencers on social media, learn from people around you to become a better version of yourself. He adds that focus on your career now and the day you will become successful, everything from materialistic things to friendships, will come automatically to you.

If anyone wants to make a career in the hospitality and hotel industry, Vinay suggests them to always keep their perspective open to their work. Also, in this industry, you get an opportunity to meet people from different industries, from whom you can learn various things and apply them in your work. In addition, communication is the key to achieve success in this industry so try to be good at it.
