With an unwavering love for music, Vinay has set out on a journey to make classical music more popular through his music class.

Vinay Verma is a professional classical musician and music teacher.

Vinay belongs to a small village, Matoon, which is in Udaipur district. His father moved to Udaipur for work when he was very young.

Recalling his childhood, Vinay says he has been learning music since he was seven years old. In the beginning, he used to play the tabla, and slowly he started dedicating time to different musical instruments. He has learned Indian classical music and currently teaches it.

Talking about his challenges, Vinay says that he has faced many ups and downs in life. However, his challenges are mostly related to health issues. He underwent a knee operation in the past, and he overcame many obstacles, like recovering from the injury. He hasn’t faced any challenges from his family’s end and says that he’s lucky in that area. He wanted to be a footballer, but because of the knee surgery, he had to shift his focus to music, which is also his passion.

Vinay’s role model is his father, as he started with very humble beginnings and reached a respectful position in his life.

For aspiring musicians, Vinay says that one can aim at creating western music, but the start should be with Indian music—classical music, to be precise. In the music industry, practice makes you perfect because everyone is a learner in classical music, he claims.

Even if given a chance to go back in time in a time machine, Vinay would like to become a musician only. It shows his passion for his current profession, which is music.

Comparing experience and education, Vinay says that experience is more important to him, especially because, as a musician, it is crucial to master various instruments, and that comes only with experience. He says that "You need to have both in some measure, but education alone can’t take you to great heights in your profession."

In his spare time, Vinay likes to play football, dance, and play cricket. He is a big-time cricket fan and likes to watch all the matches of the Indian cricket team and also the IPL series.

Vinay plays several instruments, like the guitar, the tabla, the harmonium, the Hindustani classical instruments, and the Carnatic classical instruments. He laments that most of the music schools or teachers in Udaipur take group classes. According to him, this practice distributes the focus among all the students in the class. Explaining his teaching approach, he says that he only takes individual classes, the reason being that, in that way, the student gets more time with the guru.
