After beginning as an intern in 2008 and moving up the ladder, Vikram is now the head of HR at one of India's newest businesses.

Vikram Jain has meticulously built his career in the HR field. He is heading the HR department in the Good Dot group, looking after the HR operations of five different companies in the group.

Vikram started his career in the HR field in 2008 as an intern, and in the ensuing 12 years, he has built upon his position to become the head of HR at one of India’s upcoming startups.

Vikram says everyone has to face hard times in life, and he also had his share of them at the beginning of his career. But he went by what his religious and professional gurus taught him, which was to go on doing your work and leave the rest to God. In 2008, when there was a worldwide recession, he had to go through more than 20 interviews before he landed a job.

He sees his role model in his father, who, despite difficulties, never gave up on life and kept on toiling. He is also inspired by several of his teachers and seniors in the companies where he has worked so far.

For newcomers to the HR field, Vikram’s advice is to have good knowledge of the field and gain as much experience as possible by participating in internship and training programs during your study years. The skills required to succeed in the field are self-confidence and a never-say-no attitude. According to him, such an attitude creates a multi-tasker image of yourself, which helps in the long run.

If Vikram could travel back in time through a time machine, he would change his course of life and become an army officer.

Vikram has childhood memories of the time his father was posted in Jaisalmer, where he performed well in school examinations and was especially promoted to a higher class. But when he and his brother broke the news to his father, they were informed that they had to go back to Udaipur and that the special promotion was of no use.

Vikram thinks that education and experience in life are co-related and both are necessary for your career.

Vikram has a passion for event management and organizes events for friends and relatives as a fun activity. Besides, his idea of fun is playing with his little son.
