After living his life in poverty, Viaks was determined to help the poor by working with them and providing employment to them through various government schemes.

Vikas Bharadwaj runs an NGO named ‘Shri Govind Gramin Vikas Evam Praskikshan Sansthan’ as its Secretary. They work to provide employment to people in rural and urban areas. He has been running this organisation since 2007, after his father passed away. They visit rural areas and try to understand the problems of the people there by interacting with them and arrange employment opportunities for them. Also, they help villagers to get employment under various government schemes and to get subsidised loans.

Vikas says that inspiration in his life came from his family because he had seen a lot of poverty and made him think that he would work with the poor to provide them employment, be it self-employment, through a group or be it for women.

Vikas says that after his father’s death, all the responsibilities came on his shoulder because there was no other earning person in the house. Earlier, he used to work in the Panchayat Samiti, but then he joined the sansthan and decided to work for the poor. In addition, he runs an E-Mitra shop and is also a ration dealer.

Vikas believes that in todays’ era, Education is very important and Experience must be taken along with Education, even if it is in any field. He says that experience is gained at every step of life so you must adapt accordingly and if someone is doing wrong then you should try to correct him. As you progress in life, you will continue to experience more with time.

Vikas says that in the time of Covid, he had seen people struggling for basic necessities of life. In view of the same, he distributed 40 quintals of wheat to them. Ration and food packets were delivered to their homes. He says that he and his entire family had also become victims of Covid and people did not treat them well. After that, if anyone became positive, he himself used to take medicines and food for them.

In his spare time, Vikas makes plans for the next day and thinks about his family and how to improve their future. He likes to spend time with his friends too.
