Vikas originally hails from Alwar but has been living in Udaipur for the past many years. He did his schooling in Udaipur itself. He earned an MBA from Pune University. After his MBA, he worked with Bharti Airtel, Gurgaon, for four years. After working there for 4 years, he decided to move back to his hometown, Udaipur.
After coming back to Udaipur, he assisted his father in his business but realized that it wasn’t performing well on the monetary front. And then he decided to get a job and landed a position at Max Life Insurance. Since then, he has been working with the same company and rising through the ranks.
Vikas is extremely happy and content with his current job, as it has fulfilled all his wishes.
For those aspiring to enter the insurance industry, Vikas suggests understanding clients' needs and serving them accordingly. Passion and patience are essential, given that this industry takes time to yield returns.
Vikas says that education and experience are both important. Education tells you what to implement, but experience tells you how to implement it.
Vikas shares an anecdote from his childhood that he wasn’t good at studies and his father always wanted him to score more. After his 7th grade, when results were about to be declared, his father scolded him in advance, thinking that he was going to flunk, but luckily he passed. Looking back, he reminisces about those times that he once disliked.
Vikas has a penchant for sales. If given a chance to go back in time and undo something, Vikas would like to do the same job as he is doing currently.
In his leisure, he enjoys spending time with his 2-year-old daughter, dancing together, and considers it a form of workout.
