Vijay Soni serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Techno NJR Institute of Technology, Udaipur.
Vijay Soni highlights that, at Techno NJR, the emphasis is on fostering a learning environment where students acquire hands-on experience, ensuring that theoretical concepts are complemented by real-world applications. This approach equips students with practical knowledge, enabling them to thrive in their future careers.
He shares that students in Udaipur have several options for pursuing engineering, but Techno NJR Institute of Technology stands out for its holistic approach. Along with the foundational engineering courses, the college goes a step further by incorporating the latest technologies that may not be covered in the RTU syllabus. This ensures that students stay ahead in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
At Techno NJR, emphasis is placed on providing practical knowledge through internships, training programs, and hands-on projects. This not only enhances students’ technical skills but also supports their individual growth.
Beyond academics, the institute offers co-curricular activities that include certifications and follow-up sessions conducted in collaboration with industry trainers and companies. This comprehensive approach equips students with both theoretical and practical expertise, preparing them for a successful career in the competitive world of technology.
While talking about Computer Science Engineering, Soni highlights a common concern faced by students and their parents after completing class 12th: deciding the right career path. He emphasizes that one of the best options for students is to pursue a degree in Computer Science, with B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering being a particularly excellent choice. According to him, a B.Tech degree not only ensures a promising future but also opens doors to prestigious opportunities in leading multinational companies (MNCs), both in India and abroad.
For students who may not be able to pursue B.Tech, Soni points out an equally valuable alternative: pursuing BCA followed by MCA. These programs are equivalent to B.Tech in terms of core subjects, focusing solely on computer science without requiring additional coursework in subjects like Mathematics or Electrical Engineering. He strongly recommends that students focus on these options—B.Tech, or BCA and MCA—because they provide strong job assurance and enhance placement prospects, enabling students to secure rewarding careers in the technology sector.
In terms of achievements, Vijay Soni has an impressive track record of academic and professional accomplishments. He was the topper in his BCA program at Mohanlal Sukhadia University and secured a spot among the top two performers during his MCA at ICFAI Tech School, Hyderabad.
Beyond academics, Soni has made significant contributions to the field of Computer Science by authoring books on various subjects within the domain. These books are not only a testament to his expertise but also hold copyrights, underscoring their originality and value. His dedication to advancing knowledge and sharing it with others has been a cornerstone of his career.
Talking about his inspiration behind joining the Computer Science field, Vijay Soni reflects on his journey in the field, sharing that his interest in the subject was kindled over 20 years ago when he started studying the subject. At the time, Computer Science hadn’t yet experienced the massive boom it enjoys today. After completing his BCA and MCA, he noticed the growing demand for faculty members in this domain, which led him to join a college as a teacher.
It was during his initial interactions with students, who appreciated his work and teaching style, that he realized his passion for the field. Since then, he has remained deeply committed to computer science education, continuously advancing his knowledge and staying connected with students to this day.
He firmly believes that the future belongs to computer science. Regardless of the engineering branch students choose—be it Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical—each field has components intertwined with computer science. He emphasizes that knowledge of computers is indispensable, as it serves as a critical tool across all domains. His dedication to guiding students and preparing them for this tech-driven future remains his driving force.
His primary goal is to engage deeply with the ever-evolving field of Computer Science and emerging technologies. He is dedicated to teaching students about the latest advancements and empowering them with practical skills in programming languages.
Reflecting on his academic and professional journey, Vijay Soni shares that he completed his BCA from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, where he was a college topper. He then pursued his MCA from ICFAI Tech School, Hyderabad. Following his education, Soni gained extensive teaching experience at esteemed institutions such as MLSU, Aravali College, Sunrise College, S.S. College, and Geetanjali College.
Ultimately, he found the most enriching and supportive environment at Techno NJR Institute of Technology. He attributes this to the institute’s unique approach to education, which treats learning not as a burden but as an engaging and enjoyable process. The focus is on understanding how students learn and encouraging them to work on technologies they are genuinely interested in.
In the first year, students are exposed to a broad range of subjects to build a strong foundation. Subsequently, based on their interests, they are guided to specialize in the technology that resonates with them the most. This personalized and interest-driven approach ensures that students not only learn but also thrive in their chosen areas of expertise.
Talking about his role models, Vijay Soni shares that everyone has someone they look up to in life, and for him, that person is the late Ratan Tata. He believes Ratan Tata's legacy is unparalleled, as he embodied passion and determination in his work. Soni admires how Ratan Tata revived a struggling company and elevated it to extraordinary heights, making its name renowned worldwide.
What inspires Vijay Soni the most is Ratan Tata’s unwavering commitment and his contributions to society, which earned him prestigious honors such as the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan, among many other accolades. Soni sees Ratan Tata as a person of remarkable vision and perseverance, qualities that continue to motivate him in his own journey.
Vijay Soni recites some inspirational lines,
“आंधी क्या तूफान मिलें, चाहे जितने व्यवधान मिलें, बढ़ना ही अपना काम है, बढ़ना ही अपना काम है। हम नयी चेतना की धारा, हम अंधियारे में उजियारा, हम उस बयार के झोंके हैं, जो हर ले जग का दुःख सारा।”
These lines motivate and inspire him whenever he feels low.
For students, Vijay Soni shares a valuable piece of advice: selecting the right direction, field, and college after completing the 12th grade is crucial for ensuring a bright future. He strongly encourages students to focus on pursuing courses in computer science, such as BCA, MCA, or B.Tech, which provide excellent career opportunities.
He particularly recommends Techno NJR Institute of Technology for its holistic approach to education. Unlike institutions that focus solely on textbook knowledge, Techno NJR emphasizes practical learning and industry exposure. What sets the college apart is its faculty, who are not just educators but also experienced industrial trainers. This unique combination ensures that students receive high-quality, real-world knowledge.
For those aiming to acquire advanced skills and insights, Vijay Soni suggests visiting Techno NJR to experience its exceptional learning environment firsthand.
Lastly, Vijay Soni emphasizes the importance of approaching education with the right mindset. He explains that if you treat learning as a burden, the knowledge will stay in your mind only temporarily and eventually fade away. Instead, he suggests studying any subject as if it were a story, something to be understood and enjoyed rather than memorized.
He firmly believes that struggle is merely a perception. If you genuinely immerse yourself in learning, it will never feel like a struggle. His advice to students is to first develop an interest in whatever they wish to pursue. Creating this interest, according to Vijay Soni, often begins with engaging in live programming and hands-on activities.
Balancing theoretical understanding with practical application is key, as this combination helps students truly excel in their chosen fields.
Vijay Soni’s parting advice is simple yet profound: approach learning with curiosity and passion, and success will naturally follow.
