Deputy General Manager of a resort, Vijay emphasizes the importance of hard work and a positive attitude in achieving success. He highlights the potential of tourism and horticulture in Himachal Pradesh.

Vijay Singh is the Deputy General Manager of Adventure Resort, New Kufri and has been working there since eight years.

Vijay tells us that the Adventure Resort is the most technologically advanced amusement park in the whole of Himachal Pradesh. They’ve a plethora of amazing games and adventure sports. They have Go-Carts and have started Helicopter Services recently.

Vijay had done his primary schooling from New Kufri and had completed his High School from Shimla and completed his degree in Hotel Management in 1999.  Then he came  into the Hotel Business from 2001.

Vijay says people need to work hard with a positive attitude to get ahead in life.

Vijay shares that he derives inspiration from his project owner, Baldev Thakur; who had undertaken and helped complete  Adventure Resort, known nationwide. He loves how his journey has been through his life and then he added Hotel Twin Towers and the Adventure Resort in Himachal Pradesh, hence boosting tourism capabilities.

Vijay sees the immense potential of Himachal Pradesh from a tourism point of view and its rich Horticulture and he says that the industry would slowly grow bigger and bigger.

Vijay discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, explaining that they encountered a tough situation. They had to close down for seven months, and all the staff experienced significant problems and challenges. However, they maintained hope throughout this period.

Asking about hobbies, Vijay says that he is interested in Adventure Games, mainly snow skiing. He had trained as an instructor in 1995 and had participated in National Games many times. He enjoys the winter months when the mountains get clad in snow; that’s the time when the Snow Skiing starts at his Resort. Vijay enjoys the local lores, Hindi Music and Ghazals.

Vijay emphasizes the importance of education as a fundamental necessity. He believes that education is the foundation for personal development. While experience is gained through work, Vijay points out that as time goes on, one might have limited opportunities for further education.

Vijay talks about how young people are tempted into addiction, particularly narcotic addiction. He has a message for them, explaining that when they have idle time on their hands, they often end up going down the wrong path in life. Many of them have money, which leads them into these harmful traps. Vijay believes it's crucial to rescue them from these situations and guide them toward professional opportunities.
