Vijay says that Bharat Opticals was his family’s first shop before they opened Optical World. They had started Bharat Opticals 54 years ago, and in 2011 his new shop Optical World was inaugurated. His shop has a good variety of sunglasses and spectacles, and each and every brand is available in his shop.
Vijay shares that after completing his studies, he joined this business and got to learn a lot of new things in the journey of shifting from Bharat Opticals to Optical World. He went to Singapore and Dubai for an exposure in his field of work, and brought the latest optical machines to India.
Talking about the pandemic, Vijay says that the first wave of COVID affected his business a lot because their sales were less, but even then, he provided help to his staff and provided them with their salaries on time.
When asked about his role models, Vijay says his father is his biggest motivation in his life as he has always guided him on to the right path, and his family and friends have always supported him in every step of his life.
He shares that social media platforms have also been very helpful for him as he does sales and marketing through WhatsApp groups, and people are attracted to come to his shop to purchase those items.
Talking about his childhood, Vijay says he wants to relive those precious moments when he used to play cricket with his friends, and used to get ready for festivals and roam around wearing new clothes.
Vijay tells us that if anyone wants to start their business in this field, then they would have to remember that the basics of business is to stay as close as possible to your customers, understand their behavior, their preferences, their purchasing patterns, and create customer awareness.
In his free time, Vijay likes to spend some time alone or by himself. He also enjoys playing different types of games with his friends.
Lastly, he concludes by saying that “Be stubborn about your goals, and only then can you achieve them.”
