Vijay Joshi, a Writer Who Thinks That Finding Inner Peace Needs Having a Dialogue With Ourselves and Setting Off on a Creative Journey

Vijay had always been inclined towards art writing since his school days. Several of his story collections and poetry have been published. He believes internal peace is necessary for a good life.

Vijay Joshi is a writer. He does book reviews, short story writing, and novel writing. He is an M.Sc. in Botany and has a specialization in Plant Pathology.

Vijay was born in Jhalawar but moved to Kota when his father was transferred.

Recalling his childhood, Vijay says that he studied till the fifth standard at Jhalawar. He was always inclined towards art since his childhood. He used to do paintings and would attend poetry readings, which instilled creativity in him. He says that even as a science student, he participated in many cultural competitions on the encouragement of his teachers. He was influenced by his father too, who was a historian and archaeologist.

Sharing his journey, Vijay says that he started by writing some science-related articles, and later, he moved on to story writing. The first story that he had written, Trees, also got selected to be featured in Akashvani. He wrote the stories with a touch of scientific logic. His story collection, Khamosh Galiyaare, was published in 1996 with the support of the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy.

Talking about his mistakes, Vijay says that as his interest was more into artistic things, he would bunk his classes, for which he was once scolded and punished by his teacher too. He learned to live a more disciplined life and focused on his studies as well.

Sharing about his achievements, Vijay says that since the 8th grade, his paintings have been showcased in exhibitions and his story collections and articles have been  published regularly, which is an accomplishment for him. As a writer, he is respected in society. He is presently working on his novel, ’Ateet ki Ahaten’.

When asked about his role models, Vijay says that his father has always encouraged him to pursue art and is an inspiration to him.

Vijay believes that inner peace is more important for living life peacefully. In times of stress, one should talk to themselves and analyze themselves.

Vijay’s life mantra is to be positive in life.
