Veerendra Singh Shekhawat works as a Food & Beverages Manager at Hotel Shree Kanak, Udaipur, Rajasthan. He was born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. After his schooling, he did his bachelors from the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai. Veerendra has done training in hotels like ITC Maratha, The Trident, and The Taj. After three years of training, he joined Hotel Radisson Blu in Udaipur.
He is also a sports enthusiast. He has been a part of the Maharashtra Kabaddi Team. He participated in State-Level Boxing competitions in his school days.
Veerendra says that this field requires full dedication. They have to go under long training of 20-22 hours daily. They have no social life outside of work. He says that many people drop out in the training phase itself and those who don’t, go ahead a long way.
To those who want to come into Hotel Management, Veerendra advises having patience and sincerity. He says that even a small complaint can have a bad impact on their career. They have to be polite to their guests, and they have to keep themselves calm. Veerendra says that it is a skill-based industry, and practice is the only thing that can make you perfect.
In Covid lockdown, Veerendra spent his time with his family, which is rare in his profession. He also learned to value life more. Veerendra says that he became more health-conscious and serious about health and nutrition.
He believes that leadership is all about teamwork. A good leader works cordially with their team and accommodates them well. Veerendra says that a leader should be considerate towards their mates in tough times.
If he gets a Time Machine, he would like to go back to his academic days and study harder. He says that studying more would have given him better opportunities in life.
In his free time, Veerendra likes to go on long bike rides and read books like Bhagwat Geeta and the ones related to our freedom fighters.
