Varun Choudhary is doing research work in Udaipur.
Varun hails from Barmer. He completed his B.Tech. in mining and also did an MBA. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD at FMS, MLSU in Udaipur.
Recalling his childhood, Varun says that his childhood was very interesting as he lived in a remote area and used to walk 5 km to attend school. But he enjoyed those days, as there was no pressure related to studies until the ninth grade.
Talking about his journey, Varun says that initially he worked with Vedanta for three years. Then, after completing his MBA, he worked with Axis Bank. Afterwards, he also did preparation for the civil service and then joined the PhD programme in 2019.
Sharing about his professional experience, Varun says that initially he joined Vedanta as a mining engineer and worked with people who were twice his age. He gained valuable exposure by calmly handling people and acquiring knowledge from the experiences of his team members. Then he worked with Axis Bank as a relationship manager in the funding department and learned to do traditional work with innovative techniques.
Varun feels that management is not only about academics; it also includes overall personality development. Management includes team building, communication skills, interpersonal skills, etc. that are helpful in professional and personal lives.
Sharing his COVID experience, Varun says that it was a very hard time for everyone, and he also faced many problems during the pandemic, like not being able to work efficiently. He also suffered from Corona and faced many mental and physical problems. He went through trauma as he had to do all the work on his own, like cooking, medication, cleaning,etc.
In her spare time, Varun likes to walk, jog, etc. to stay fit. He also likes to interact with others. He also places emphasis on fitness and tries to keep his fitness record good.
While comparing education and experience, Varun says that education is your foundation, and then the building is made from your experience. So, the coordination and combination of education and experience are both important.
Varun’s role model is Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who inspires him a lot. He also admires his parents, as he learned a lot from them, like hard work, confidence, and many more.
If given a time machine, Varun would like to go back and enjoy each and every moment of his past.
Varun believes that leadership qualities build when you start encountering situations. When he was working with Hindustan Zinc in manpower management, he learned leadership qualities and gained various experiences.
Varun finds solace in listening to the patriotic track "Teri Mitti".
Advising the youth, Varun says that it is important to choose the career path earlier in life, as that phase is filled with a lot of energy and optimism.
