A professional golfer, Vani Kapoor began her journey at the age of 10 after being introduced to the sport by her family. She found golf challenging and introspective, and focused on improving and overcoming challenges. She has achieved numerous professional wins in India and top ten finishes, and is working to achieve her first win overseas. Vani advises new aspirants to put in hard work, enjoy the sport, and celebrate victories to ensure happiness and longevity in their careers.

Vani Kapoor is a Professional Golfer from Gurgaon. Her journey in Golf began at the age of ten, when her family introduced her to this magnificent sport. She admits that she was forced into this activity and first thought it was sluggish and dull. However, when she started playing, she began to win at a young age.

Vani Kapoor’s achievements in Golf include having the most professional wins in India, as well as a few top ten finishes, the third of which was her best. She is also trying hard to achieve her first win overseas. Besides that, she believes that the most valuable thing she has in life is the people around her. She is really appreciative for the respect she enjoys and the team that supports her.

Vani Kapoor shares that what drew her to this sport was the fact that it is a mental game in which one must do a large number of calculations in a short period of time, as well as the need to improve self-confidence and conquer all problems and ideas. She found this sport difficult and wanted to improve because Golf is a sport in which everyone, no matter how good, can always improve. At the age of 12- 13, she knew she wanted to become a professional golfer.

Describing her passion, Kapoor states that winning at a young age motivates and drives her to pursue the sport. She loves winning, and that motivates her to keep going and achieve all her goals. Golf is a bit of an introspective sport for her since she concentrates on how she didn't strike the shot and how she can improve. The fact that it is an introspective sport with constant room for improvement is what she enjoys about it. She states that it is a game that is extremely similar to life. For example, if she makes one bad shot, she takes two steps back and begins focusing on the current situation; similarly, in life, she always strives to move on and live in the moment.

Vani Kapoor began playing golf at DLF Golf Academy under the supervision and instruction of her coaches. The academy is like her first home, and it has been a wonderful experience that is still ongoing, she adds.

Vani Kapoor is from Gurugram and has spent the majority of her younger years playing golf. She finished her education at Shri Ram School, Aravali and graduated from Jesus and Mary College. Both her school and her college encouraged her and offered her time to practise. She studied Psychology and Sociology, which helped her in sports as well.

Recalling her childhood memories, she shares that she spent 12 hours at the golf course even on vacations. Her father sent her to the course early in the morning and picked her up in the evening when he returned home from work. She also recalls winning a tournament and sharing her accomplishments with her instructor and others in her academy.

Regarding her role models, Vani Kapoor states that she draws inspiration from many individuals around her and strives to emulate their positive behaviours or what she admires in others. She considers Lydia Ko, who recently won a gold medal in the Olympics as her role model. Vani admires and looks up to Ko’s abilities both on and off the golf course. She believes that being a good athlete and an expert in your field is vital, but so is being a nice person.

The saying "A positive thought accompanies a negative thought" encourages her to think positively anytime she has a negative thought, on or off the course.

Finally, she encourages everyone to enjoy their small and major successes in life. She believes that when she was younger, she began winning at a young age, but she was always chasing behind one objective after another and didn't take the time to celebrate her accomplishments. However, she believes your victories give you happiness throughout your life. Always give yourself a pat on the back, she suggests.
