An educator, Vanessa sees it coming into the teaching line as an accomplishment . She is also pursuing her Ph.D. and has presented her research papers at various conferences and seminars.

Vanessa Fernandes is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology, Goa, in the Civil Engineering field. She has two years of industry experience and four years of teaching experience. Vanessa is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the same field.

Talking about her childhood, Vanessa says that she had a beautiful childhood and used to enjoy playing badminton with her younger brother.

Vanessa says that her overall journey was quite good. Though there were ups and downs, she kept learning and moving ahead.

Speaking about her accomplishments, Vanessa says that she always wanted to become a teacher, and hence becoming an associate professor was a big achievement for her as it gave her an opportunity to teach young minds who are going to be professionals of the future. She has also presented her Ph.D. research papers at various conferences, which she considers an achievement. She also runs a YouTube channel by the name ‘Civil Lens’ and posts civil-related projects on it.

When asked about her mistakes, Vanessa says that no one is perfect and we should learn from our mistakes.

Speaking about her role models, Vanessa says that her parents are her role models, as they have always supported, guided, and motivated her to achieve her goals in life.

Vanessa says that her life mantra is that if we enhance our learning, we will never stop growing. She also says that we should never give up.

Advising the aspirants to the field, Vanessa says that if they want to come into the engineering field, they should start preparing early and join a good coaching programme.

In her free time, she likes listening to music, gardening, and reading books.
