Vaidik Rajguru is a percussionist, he plays the tabla. He has been playing the tabla since he was five years old. He has been learning music professionally for the past six years.
His journey began when he was a young child and used to visit one of his relatives, where he discovered musical instruments and began to enjoy the music. Vaidik's mother was advised by his relative to enroll him in music class. This was the beginning of his musical journey. He initially disliked missing his playtime when he had to attend music class as a young child. But as he got older, he developed a love for music and over time, his passion for it grew, leading to his eventual career as a professional musician.
One of the biggest challenges Vaidik faced was his laziness. He claims that in his field, practice sessions must last longer than four hours per day, but he used to practice for four hours a week. But he was adamant that he would beat it, so he began working extremely hard to prepare for it during the COVID pandemic. He was eventually able to perform at the highest level because of his hard work and practice. He has since joined a band and is now frequently playing in front of crowds.
Reflecting on his mistakes, Vaidik says that everyone makes mistakes and has regrets, but it is important to learn from them and move forward. He is no exception, and he made the mistake of not focusing on his music training at first. He believes that if he had prioritized his music training earlier in his career, he would be in a better position today.
Describing his childhood, Vaidik says that no one in his entire Kathiyavadi family was a musician. Even though he is an engineer and all of his family members are highly educated, he prefers the creative side of his work.
Speaking of his accomplishments, Vaidik says that for an artist, even a small compliment from the audience matters the most. He has performed on well-known stages up until this point and won the audience's hearts.
When asked about his role models, Vaidik says that he is inspired by his guru, under whom he has been training since he was ten years old. His guru not only taught him the nuances of the field, but also taught him how to stay calm in stressful situations.
Vaidik believes that his guru's teachings have not only helped him in his professional life but also in his personal life.
