Vaibhav aspired to become an entrepreneur but due to family pressure, he took up a job. But still he soared high due to his honesty towards his profession.

Vaibhav Jain is working as a Reliability Consultant and Corporate Trainer at SKF Group in Pune. He handles the entire Asia-Pacific division of the company. He monitors about fifteen different countries from his base location, Pune.

Vaibhav belongs to Udaipur. He says that he did his schooling from a Hindi medium school. He had been a topper of his school. He desired to become a Software Engineer but for some reason, he ended up doing Mechanical Engineering. However, due to the course being in English medium, he faced a lot of challenges. Somehow he coped up with it and got good placement through a campus recruitment program. But his plan was to become an entrepreneur. So he started a coaching institute together with one of his batchmates.

Vaibhav’s business was running quite successfully. But his family put a lot of pressure on him to take up a job. And so he landed at Binani Cement as a Mechanical Engineer. After a year-and-a-half, he worked at Shree Cement for two years. Then he was offered his desired profile at SKF Group and he joined there immediately. There he got an opportunity to work in big refineries like IOCL. On getting promoted, he now works at a global level in the SKF Group, having his office location in Singapore. But due to the COVID pandemic and his other interests, he preferred to work from India itself.

Talking about his childhood memories, Vaibhav says that besides being good at studies, he was always active in extracurricular activities as well. Due to that, his public speaking skills also got developed.

When asked about his achievements, Vaibhav says that after 12th std, he stopped taking any financial support from home. He worked as a faculty at a coaching institute in his locality. Apart from this, getting appreciated for his training sessions from his clients, is no less than an achievement for him. He also launched the first music band in Udaipur called ‘Adbhut’, which is a huge achievement for him.

According to Vaibhav, a good leader is the one who sets a good example and guides people in the right direction to execute any work. Also, he should have a sense of ownership and know the art of getting work done from his team members.

About the COVID pandemic, Vaibhav says that it had very badly impacted his company, due to which the company started layoffs and many of his colleagues ended up losing their jobs. On a personal front, since he is a socializer, it was very difficult for him to stay at home. Besides, he also runs a professional music band in clubs and pubs of Pune, that stopped completely. He even lost a few of his friends and relatives to COVID. So his overall COVID experience was very bad.

Vaibhav advises everyone to become answerable and take accountability of your mistakes. He says that instead of blaming others, it is better that we take the responsibility ourselves and try to fix things.
