Based in Udaipur, Advocate Vaibhav Jain specialises in Family Court matters while also practicing in Criminal Law.
Advocate Vaibhav says he had always been drawn to Criminal Law, with a natural inclination toward the subject—even enjoying crime-based films from a young age. Over time, this fascination evolved into a dedicated pursuit of a legal career, with a particular focus on Criminal and Family Law.
Reflecting on what inspired him to enter the legal field, Vaibhav Jain shares that his interest in the field began to take shape after completing his 12th grade. Although there wasn’t a broad legal background in his family, his maternal grandfather was a lawyer. During the summer break after school, he began accompanying his grandfather to court. Observing court proceedings and learning from real cases sparked a deep interest in him about the field.
Recalling his childhood, Vaibhav Jain shares that he was born and raised in Udaipur, and fondly remembers the time spent with his siblings and friends. He completed his schooling from Central Academy, Sardarpura, and pursued his higher education at Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University in Udaipur.
During his academic career, Vaibhav faced a difficult phase when he was detained in the 12th grade. He describes that period as a major struggle, filled with challenges and self-doubt, primarily because he hadn’t taken his studies seriously earlier. However, instead of letting the setback define him, he treated it as a learning experience. He emerged stronger, chose to pursue law, and since then, he has never looked back or encountered failure in his career.
Talking about his role models, Lawyer Vaibhav Jain says he considers his father as his greatest inspiration, especially for the unwavering support he provided during Vaibhav's most challenging times.
As an only child, Vaibhav felt the weight of his father’s expectations. However, when he failed in the 12th grade, his father didn’t react with disappointment—instead, he taught Vaibhav a valuable life lesson. He told him, “It’s okay—this is life, and such things happen. There’s no need to stress. Take this failure in a positive way and move forward.” This mindset deeply impacted Vaibhav and helped shape the resilient and grounded individual he is today.
Advocate Vaibhav Jain shares a powerful quote that deeply resonates with him: "The only person who can defeat you is yourself—and success comes only to those who refuse to give up." He recalls how, when applied in real life, this simple truth gave him strength and clarity.
To new aspirants in the legal field, Vaibhav offers practical advice:
While college provides theoretical knowledge through books, the real learning in law comes through experience. He strongly recommends that students join court early to gain hands-on exposure. For those pursuing a 5-year integrated course, he suggests joining the court after completing three years. Similarly, for students in a 3-year program, joining court as an intern after 1.5 years of study can be highly beneficial.
He emphasizes that if you aim to build a career in Advocacy or Judiciary, practical knowledge is essential—and that can only be gained in the courtroom. He warns that the portrayal of courtrooms in books and films is often very different from the actual environment and proceedings there.
Vaibhav Jain also welcomes anyone seeking advice or support. He can be reached at his office in Chamber No. 4, District and Sessions Court Compound, Udaipur. For direct contact, he shares his phone number: 9782728510.
He says that everyone goes through different phases in life. His only advice to the younger generation is this: many youngsters let small failures weigh them down and end up making impulsive or emotional decisions because of them. Instead, he urges them not to let failures overpower them. Life presents new opportunities every single day—one just needs to stay alert, grab them, and the path ahead will gradually unfold on its own.
