Umang Joshi hails from Udaipur, Rajasthan, and is currently working at Inspiro, where they interview people, cover their life stories, and publish them on a platform called Workmob.
He completed his schooling at Fateh School and graduated from Mohanlal Sukhadia University. Presently, he is pursuing a Diploma in Computer Science from SS College of Engineering, Udaipur.
Joshi shares that his experience at Inspiro has significantly improved his confidence and communication skills while covering people's life stories. His work involves calling, interviewing, and creating podcasts.
Reflecting on his childhood memories, Umang Joshi recalls his early days in Udaipur. He fondly remembers giving a group dance performance in 8th grade at Vikas Public School’s annual function, where he won a trophy.
Umang Joshi faced several struggles due to financial difficulties. To support his family's needs, he took up car washing, worked as a peon, and did late-night shifts at people’s homes. He also worked as a customer care executive from 5 pm to 2 am, despite landing in tough situations occasionally. Additionally, he worked at Vishal Mega Mart for a while. Following his uncle and mother’s advice, Umang decided to pursue a diploma course.
During the pandemic, Umang cherished the time spent with his family. He learned new skills like cooking and developed a habit of reading books to enhance his knowledge.
Umang Joshi draws inspiration from his mother, who struggled to provide him with a good education, and his father, who always encouraged him to study and become a better person. He also follows the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, and Shivaji.
On the topic of education versus experience, Joshi says he believes that education is primary, followed by experience. He notes that digitalization has greatly increased the importance of education.
Umang advises the youth to focus on their studies and spread their knowledge. He urges everyone to teach the poor who cannot afford education.
In his free time, Umang Joshi enjoys listening to songs by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, and Lata Mangeshkar. He also likes watching motivational movies and web series. Additionally, he spends time at his mother’s shop to learn new things.
