Always work smartly to leave your mark.
Dr. Uma Singh is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Subodh College in Jaipur. For 20 years, she has been in the field of teaching. She motivates every woman and her students to work smartly. Uma says to keep your eyes and ears open and use your brains while you work.
Uma Singh hails from Jaipur. Born and brought up in Ajmer, she completed her schooling and graduated there. Her B.Ed, M. Ed, M.Phil, and Ph.D. were from Jaipur and Jodhpur.
Recalling her childhood memories, Uma says that being a girl child, she was always motivated to do B.Ed. But she was never interested in teaching as she was against such thoughts. Uma wanted to pursue some other field.
Talking about her challenges, Uma says it was a big challenge for her when she got selected for the First Grade, but she was not allowed to do the government job by her family. In those days, she was in intense need of finance. Anyhow she joined a private job and continued it with complete interest.
Talking about her role models, Uma says whatever she is today it is because of her father-in-law who motivated her to do her B.Ed. and further studies. Also, her Ph.D. guide Dr. Purohit has a big hand in her success.
Sharing her Covid experiences, Uma says her idea of smart work strengthened more during Covid when everybody was at home. She observed that people who took online classes and worked online were able to face most of their problems easily.
Uma has many hobbies like gardening, watching movies, and writing books. She has written 30 to 35 books on Educational Psychology and other topics.
For youngsters, Uma Singh suggests that ladies must come into the field of teaching. According to her, only women can contribute to two homes, one where she takes birth and another where she goes after marriage. In the teaching field, we understand how to manage different activities and psychological aspects to run our daily routines.
For one and all, Uma Singh advises that mistakes are quite common to everyone. We should learn from our mistakes and should never get depressed. She also suggests we keep on trying for our work. With her trial and error method, Uma explains the number of times you try, errors get reduced. Also, hard work is the key to success, she says.
