Dedication and consistency are the keys to success.
Ujjawal Jaiswal is the Head Coach and Founder of the Rushiraj Karate Kungfu Federation.
Ujjawal belongs to Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Sharing about his journey, Ujjawal shares that he started learning martial arts when he was just five. He and his brother were fascinated by their maternal uncle, who was a martial artist. Initially, they started learning from him, and after that, Ujjawal went to Japan to train further. He also went to China and Sri Lanka to gain more knowledge from different masters of martial arts. Meanwhile, he also completed his Mechanical Engineering from Nirma University. However, his brother, Rushiraj, was fully dedicated only to martial arts and pursued it professionally too.
Ujjawal believes that every martial artist has their ups and downs. Initially, he started this as a hobby but got serious about it after receiving the Black Belt. He explains that there are several vital points in our body, and touching them may make a person unconscious. Martial art primarily focuses on the strength of fingers, knuckles, and hands. Every country has different styles and forms of martial arts.
Ujjawal says that martial art connects one to their soul spiritually, but it requires a lot of hard work and devotion to learn martial arts. He believes that martial arts are for self-defense and not to hurt someone. There is no age for learning this art; anyone can start at any age, he says.
When asked about his role models, Ujjawal says that his brother’s love for martial arts is unbelievable, and seeing him makes him feel more motivated. Martial artists like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Akshay Kumar also inspire him.
Ujjawal’s life mantra is to practice his art regularly.
To all those who want to pursue martial arts, Ujjawal advises them that they should approach a good master and complete their journey till attaining the Black Belt. Thereafter, they can either continue playing tournaments at the national and international level or become a coach.
