A young and rising DJ, Trishina thinks that if only you consider your passion as your purpose then you can convert it into your profession.

Trishina Kirpalani was born and raised in Mumbai. She started DJing when she was sixteen. She is primarily into playing Hip-Hop Music, but she is acquainted with other genres of Music too.

Trishina shares that she inherited her love for Music from her late father. She says that at school she would be the one playing songs for all the functions and celebrations. She would put in more hard work in preparing the list of songs than she ever did in her studies.

Trishina says that she was not good in her studies. However, she always knew that Music was her passion. At the age of sixteen, she decided to become a DJ. She says that initially everyone suggested that she should complete her studies first and then take to DJing as she was young then. Her parents were also apprehensive, however they allowed her to pursue her passion on the condition that she performed well in her 10th board examinations. She worked hard and was able to do well in the examinations. Thus, her journey as a DJ began.

Talking about her struggles, Trishina says that being a young DJ, initially she was not taken seriously. She would be given tasks that would not be related to her job at all. She would also have to juggle her studies and passion as she would work till late night. Besides, to sustain the loss of her father was quite tough for her as her father was the sole breadwinner of her family. Furthermore, she also had to face the politics and competition in the DJ industry.

Trishina thinks that one should rather try than to have regrets for not doing what they want to do. She says that one should just follow their passion without worrying about where they will land up in future.

Trishina says that DJing is not as hard to learn as it is to master. Thereofere, to aspiring DJ artists, she advises them to be really passionate about it. Besides, she advises them to learn to tackle the pressure and challenges that come with the DJ industry.

Trishina says that it’s hard for her to pick one person as her role model as she met many talented artists and each one of them equally inspired her.

Trishina thinks that it’s very important to consider your passion as your purpose to be able to convert it into your profession.

To people her message is that struggles in life are inevitable but how you come out of them is what matters the most. Besides, she says that never shy away from reaching out to people for your mental health problems.
