A journalist, Tahir, joined the field five years ago and became the first journalist to bring electronic media journalism to his area. Despite financial struggles and a lack of support, he gradually gained recognition and started working with a news channel. He launched his own digital platform two years ago and plans to start a magazine in the future. With his undying quest for truth and justice, Tahir became the voice of his people to help them attain their basic human rights.

Tahir Qadoos is a journalist based in Jammu and Kashmir.

Tahir says that with little support from friends or family, his path was not easy. He explains that this work requires constant focus and travel to remote locations to gather news and raise important issues. To add to the challenge, he was financially dependent on his family, who were not very wealthy at the time. However, through his efforts, he eventually began to gain recognition.

Tahir subsequently started working for a news program and began generating earnings. He created his own digital platform two years ago and hopes to produce a magazine in the near future. His relatives and friends gradually rallied around him. He is especially thankful to his friend, Dr. Ajaz, who not only continued to motivate him but also provided various forms of assistance during his struggle.

When asked about the inspiration for his journalism career, Tahir mentioned that he was always motivated by the Chief Editor of the Kashmir Crown, a weekly newspaper. He started in journalism five years ago and was the first to introduce electronic media journalism to his region.

Tahir hails from a border town in Jammu and Kashmir. He claims that there was no network access there until 2013. He spent his youth playing with his friends and leading an active life free of electronics. He attended school in his village before moving to Srinagar to pursue his B.Sc. He is now doing his PG in journalism from IGNOU.

Tahir compares education and experience, saying that they are equally significant. He goes on to add that, while education helps us distinguish between good and evil, experience teaches us about our society and our role in it.

Speaking of leadership, Tahir recalls actively participating in his school elections to attain a position where he could assist others in correctly raising their concerns. Later, he claims that entering the world of media improved his leadership skills by providing him with more opportunities to assist others.

Tahir typically covers news on public grievances. He claims that he interacts with individuals directly and elevates their challenges and problems to a higher level in order to get them noticed. He claims that he uses technology and digital media to include everyone.

Talking about his achievements, Tahir recalls being upset while covering a story about a poor man and deciding to aid him. He talked to several of his friends that night, and the man ultimately received the assistance he required the next morning from the appropriate authorities. The man and his family praised him, giving him a feeling of success and happiness. He states that he has numerous accomplishments, but he views this conduct as his biggest achievement.

Tahir advises prospective journalists to start with a solid education. He then suggests identifying your strengths and choosing the field that suits you. He also warns that journalism is not a lucrative profession, so it should not be pursued solely for financial gain.

If given the opportunity to travel back in time in a time machine, Tahir says he would not alter anything about his life since he has come this far through hard work and it brings him happiness.

Tahir enjoys spending leisure time with his son when he has it available due to his hectic schedule. He also plays cricket with his friends on Sundays when he is free.

Sharing his views on the effect of the COVID pandemic, Tahir believes that the COVID outbreak spooked people and caused many businesses to fail. On the plus side, he believes, people got closer, learnt to overcome adversities, and developed human values.
