Facing ups and downs in his career, Swastik is trying to make his mark in the filmmaking field. He believes a director is like a captain of a ship working in the direction of producing memorable experiences for the viewers.

Swastik Sharma is an independent filmmaker and director with six years of experience in the field. He feels grateful for having worked with some of the prominent  personalities of the film industry.

Swastik belongs to Meerut, UP. He did his schooling from CBSE board. Thereafter, he pursued his graduation in fashion designing from NIFT(National Institute of Fashion Technology) followed by another course in filmmaking from the Asian Academy of Films & Television. Now he  is planning to do a masters in the same field.

Remembering his childhood, Swastik says due to his father’s profession of journalism they would have to move a lot. In the early phases of his life, the film industry had always fascinated him. Watching movies of Shahrukh Khan he thought of becoming an actor. Later on he developed interest in the direction field where he would like to work with cameras. He believes as a director he has the privilege to learn something new everyday and connect to more people.

Talking about his challenges, Swastik says filmmaking has its daily ups and downs but it has not stopped him from pursuing his dreams. He believes that the  increasing popularity of the OTT platforms has given him the opportunity to approach a larger audience.

When asked about his achievements, Swastik says he feels satisfied in whatever he is doing in his life. He had always tried to complete the daily targets of his life.

Swastik says his biggest role model is his father. He looks up to his father’s loyalty and truthfulness towards his work and his contribution to society.

In his spare time, Swastik enjoys reading mythological books and has a passion for photography.

When he feels life is getting tough, Swastik would simply take a complete break and likes to listen to some music which would have a calming effect on his thoughts.

Swastik’s life mantra is that failure is not a bad thing. We can always learn from our mistakes and grow up. He advises everyone to connect to the people as every person can teach you something in some way. He feels goals can be achieved with time. We just have to be patient enough and keep working towards our goals.
