Swapnil was born and brought up in Mumbai. He received his school and college education in Mumbai itself. He did a Bachelors in Fine Arts and Textile Designing from Sir JJ School of Art.
Swapnil says that while he was still pursuing his Bachelors, he started working as a part-time tattoo artist. He would draw tattoos at parties. Later, he worked with a tattoo artist based in Mumbai itself as an intern to learn the Art of Tattooing in-depth. After completing his Bachelors he took to Tattooing full-time and it’s been eighteen years ever since.
Talking about Covid, Swapnil says that the pandemic hit his profession badly. However, he says that the pandemic was a blessing in disguise for him as he grew spiritually and learned other things as well during the pandemic. He started taking online Yoga classes as he had done a Certificate in Yoga Training.
Swapnil acknowledges that his parents have always been there by his side and have always supported him in his endeavors.
To aspiring tattoo artists, Swapnil advises them to first learn arts like Drawing and Sketching and then take to Tattooing. Besides, she says that everything is doable and learnable if you put in the required efforts and hours.
Swapnil says that besides the glamor of the profession of Tattooing, there come the perils of being in the profession. Therefore, he advises that as a tattoo artist one should know what is right and wrong for them and always have self-control.
Swapnil has considered different people as his role model at different times. Eddie Vedder - the lead singer of the band named- Pearl Jam, who inspired him to learn Music, was his biggest role model in his early years. Besides, Sadguru is also an inspiration for him.
In his spare time, Swapnil likes to travel. He thinks that traveling helps him to look at things from a different dimension.
To the youth of today, his message is to shun away all the distractions and just be focused on your goals like Arjuna.
