Sushil Sahil is a Chief Engineer at Coal India Limited. His real name is Sushil Thakur. He is a native of Bihar. He comes from a small village called Jadiyah in the Supaul District of Bihar.
Recalling his childhood, Sushil says that her childhood was pretty normal. He says that his native village had much greenery, lush fields, water bodies and liveliness. He was born and brought up in the village and had a lot of fun during her childhood. He passed his 10th in a school in his village.
Sushil says that he never knew what to do in his life as he had no guidance. He gave the entrance exam after his schooling and got selected for the Government Engineering College and did his B.Tech from MIT, Muzaffarpur. Thereafter, he joined his first company, Hindustan Motors, and continued there for one year. Then he gave the exam for Coal India Limited, got selected and is now working there as a Chief Engineer.
Shushil says that he was very fond of music since his childhood and started learning, writing, and performing music in the temples. He says that he presented his songs to one of his teachers in the school but the teacher advised him to focus on his studies so he had to leave music aside. However, he continued learning Indian Classical Music along with his job and also did his graduation and Post Graduation in Indian Classical Music. He says that he followed his passion along with his profession.
Regarding his mistakes, Sushil says that writing songs during his higher education was a mistake. He says that if he would have continued writing songs at that time, he would have not reached the professional level of his career. However, his professor guided him and showed him the right path. Another mistake that he remembers is that he used to spend a lot of time singing in the temples, but his professor again guided him to focus on his studies which was a turning point in his life.
Regarding his role models, Sushil says that he has had different role models from different fields. The very first role model of his life is his father who got his kids educated despite much hardship. After his father, his teacher Prof. Thakur is his role model. In the writing field, Faiz Raman Faiz Ustaad Mohtaram is another role model for him, says Sushil. Munawwar Rana is also his inspiration for writing, he says.
Sushil closely follows the quote, “Live and Let Live.” He feels that every human on the earth should stay happy and try to make others happy too.
In his free time, Sushil creates music with his Harmonium and also writes music in his diary.
To aspiring singers, Sushil says that practice and voice quality are the two very important factors for a singer. Young aspiring singers should always focus on learning, practicing, and improving the quality of their voice. Further, he adds that the aspirant should start their musical journey by learning Indian Classical Music first and then further choose their field of practice.
