Suruchi Agrawal, Founder and Owner of ‘Suruchi's Ghar Ki Bakery’, is an award-winning cake artist renowned for her expertise in healthy baking. Specializing in vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free treats, including cookies, breads, and customized cakes for various occasions, Agrawal selects ingredients based on her customers' preferences, such as crafting sugar-free cakes for individuals with diabetes.
Suruchi Agrawal is also a Fevicryl certified artist, and takes workshops on behalf of them. She also runs an art-related page called ‘Pepquil’.
Suruchi Agrawal was inspired to pursue baking after becoming a parent to a child with special dietary needs. With no culinary background and having a running career in pharmaceuticals, Agrawal initially had no interest in cooking. However, her child’s need for sugar-free foods sparked her passion for baking. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she launched Ghar ki Bakery. After relocating from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad, she established her own bakery page to share her creations. She started by taking orders from her friends for special occasions, and over time, her bakery gradually expanded.
Highlighting her achievements, Agrawal notes that rewards in life drive her to excel. She participates in various competitions to gauge her performance in baking. Agrawal has won a Gold Medal in an international decorative cupcakes competition, and a Silver Medal in an international competition organized by Incredible India Cake Magazine. At a Bakery Business event in Hyderabad in June 2024, she secured two Bronze Medals in both the Vegan and the Wedding Cake categories. Agrawal embraces the philosophy that learning is continuous, it never ends and emphasizes the importance of upskilling and self-evaluation.
Reflecting on her early days, Suruchi shares that she was born in a small town in Alwar, Rajasthan. As a child, she was captivated by the aroma of sweets her mother baked. Though she never imagined pursuing baking herself, her mother encouraged her to learn culinary skills alongside her education. For this reason, Suruchi's mother is her role model, having inspired her to consider baking and cooking as a potential profession. Influenced by chefs, gradually, baking became her childhood passion.
When asked about her role models, Suruchi cites her mother, who instilled in her the creativity to pursue her passion. Additionally, positive feedback from clients serves as a significant source of motivation and inspiration for her.
“If you want to become famous then you should love your work”, is a mantra that keeps Suruchi motivated. She also feels dedication and passion are prerequisites for success in life. Besides, Agrawal also finds inspiration in the song, ‘इतनी शक्ति हमें देना दाता, मन का विश्वास कमज़ोर हो ना’
If Suruchi could travel back in time in a time machine, she would have started her business much earlier. She believes that an earlier start would have allowed her to learn and grow even more.

Through constant experimentation, she eventually perfected her signature vegan chocolate cake, which today comes in various forms, including flour variations, sweetener alternatives, and substitutions for butter or oil, with added nutritious ingredients. It has become her most in-demand cake.
