Suresh Chandra Joshi is a Professor at the Madhav University, Abu Road.
Suresh was born and brought up in Nathdwara, Rajasthan. After completing primary education in Nathdwara, he moved to Bhinder due to his father's posting there and completed the rest of his schooling from there itself. He then returned to Nathdwara to pursue his graduation. He recalls that due to financial issues his father couldn't support his higher studies and that was when his elder brother helped him pursue his studies. Subsequently he moved to Udaipur to pursue his M.Sc. He also used to give tuitions while pursuing his M.Sc. to support his finances.
Suresh began teaching at a private school after completing his M.Sc. Later he switched to Alok School and worked there for 13 years. He then pursued B.Ed. followed by M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Education. Following his Ph.D. he joined the Lokmanya Tilak College, Dobak as a Mathematics Teacher. Later he got recommended for the post of Principal at the SRKD College in Meerut and worked there for six years. Subsequently he moved to Palanpur, Gujarat to work as a Principal in a B.Ed. college followed by an M.Ed. college. Shortly before his retirement in 2018, he eventually got an offer to teach at the Madhav University to which he readily agreed.
Talking about the struggles he faced in life, Suresh says that apart from struggling with financial issues, he once lost all his academic documents while travelling from Bangalore after completing a degree course. He says that he spent the next two years regaining all his documents. Suresh says that it was the time of not only numerous lost opportunities but also of unending hopelessness for him.
Suresh considers Swami Vivekananda as his role model. He shares that he spent a good time of his youth preaching his teachings. Suresh motivates his students as well to read about him. He further shares that he feels rejuvenated every time he reads Swami Vivekananda.
Giving a piece of advice to the younger generation, Suresh says that you should sensitise yourselves with the problems of others and be humble towards all. He further says that you should keep working hard with honesty.
Sharing his COVID experience, Suresh says that he properly followed the COVID guidelines and also contributed to the society fund to help people in those desperate times of need.
When free, Suresh prefers solitude and reading books. He also maintains several journals. Along with that he likes to watch TV.
