Every issue can be resolved; all you need is the will to do so.
Surendra Singh Gour is the National President of the Akhil Bhartiya Yuva Sangh.
Surendra belongs to Udaipur. He did his schooling at a government school in his village. He shares that he topped his tenth standard. He is thankful to his maths teacher, who would always encourage him to speak on stage, which helped him develop self-confidence. He says that in his school, all the students were encouraged to do social work, and he too became compassionate to help others. He did his twelfth with PCM. Thereafter, he moved to Ajmer and pursued a BSc from GCA College.
Surendra shares that he joined the Vidyarthi Parishad during his college days. He fought for the rights of students, and worked to fulfil their demands. He and his team worked to provide a healthy environment free from addictions and crime, and he urges all the students to utilise their time in order to do something for society. As he belonged to the middle class, his parents wanted him to study hard and prepare for the government exams, but he wanted to work as a social activist. Though his family supported him emotionally, they could not help him financially.
When asked about his role models, Surendra says that Swami Vivekananda has been his inspiration, and he tries to follow his teachings. He feels blessed to have supportive teachers who guided him throughout his school life. He urges the youth of the country to follow the principles of Swami Vivekananda and Bhagat Singh and do something to make our nation proud.
Surendra feels that education plays an important role in a student's life, and experience makes you learn from your situations and become more mature in life.
If given a time machine to go back in time, Surendra would like to become an engineer who could help in the development of the nation.
Surendra says that he does not get much free time as he is involved in his organisational activities. However, if he gets some time out, he likes to stay active on social media to connect with more people.
Surendra’s message to the youth is to stay away from all the distractions and you must have a vision and mission in life to find your ultimate purpose.
