Suprabhat Kaviraj Sen is a coordinator at the NGO-Shubhda in Ajmer.
Suprabhat was born in Delhi but brought up in Ajmer. She completed her education in Ajmer, and then, after marriage, she joined an NGO called Shubhda. Initially, she joined this organisation as an arts and crafts teacher and is currently working as a coordinator there.
Suprabhat shares that she is working for the welfare of mentally challenged children. They basically try to make them understand things and teach them how to live happily. At the initial stage, they teach the children how to behave and how to cope with things. In the main course, they provide them with training to stand on their own. They also teach them art and craft work, including various therapies like music therapy, colour therapy, and physiotherapy.
Suprabhat comes from an army family. Her father died while she was quite young, and her mother had to handle everything on her own. She recalls spending time with her brother on the parade ground in Delhi.
Suprabhat’s role models are her mother and father-in-law, who have always guided and supported her at every step. She learned not to give up in any situation and to always fight through the challenges.
She describes her childhood as difficult because she lost her father early. Her mother was a working woman who used to do everything on her own. She also had financial problems because her mother's earnings were low. Her siblings and she used to work after school to help their mother.
Suprabhat says that she made many mistakes but learned a lot from them. She learned how to live together with her mother-in-law.
In her free time, she does household work. She also likes to spend quality time with her family.
