Sunita is a teacher by profession and she teaches students of primary classes at Alok School, Udaipur.
Sunita’s father was a teacher. She took to teaching after her father’s death. She says that there are a lot of challenges involved in teaching young kids. She says that nowadays mostly both the parents do jobs and owing to that they can’t look after their kids well. So a primary teacher is entrusted to look after young kids besides teaching them.
Sunita thinks that a teacher plays a crucial role in the development of society. She says that however advanced the technology may be, it will never be able to replace a teacher.
Sunita shares that it’s alarming that kids today are hooked to mobile phones and electronic gadgets. She feels that it’s the need of the hour, and we need to monitor and limit the time they spend on gadgets.
To aspiring teachers, Sunita advises that you should be patient in this profession and deal with students with love to win their trust as every child comes from a different background. Besides, she says that it’s a very responsible profession and you should pay back the trust that parents place in you.
Sunita shares that it gets challenging at times for her to juggle between her roles as a teacher and mother. Sometimes, she has to work round the clock to fulfil her duties.
Sunita thinks that in the teaching profession your education and knowledge are not enough, you need to learn to articulate and express well and it comes with experience.
Sunita’s father hailed from a small place in U.P. but he settled in Udaipur. Her father strived to give his children a good education. She says that after her father’s demise, she and her siblings had to shoulder responsibilities. She started teaching when she was twenty years old.
Sunita considers her husband as her inspiration who always supports her be it in her teaching job or household duties.
Sunita likes to sing songs, listen to music and dance. She likes to listen to the songs of Lata Mangeshkar and Kumar Sanu.
Sunita thinks that she was not a born leader, but the education that she received at her school imbibed in her leadership qualities.
