As a medical professional, Sunita desires to learn and acquire overall knowledge to help others. She is also an entrepreneur and takes great pleasure in contributing to social causes.

Sunita Sharma is a physician based in Jaipur. She completed her studies at the Government Medical College, Surat.

Upon getting married, Sunita relocated to Jaipur and enrolled herself in a Hospital Administration course. Simultaneously, she joined her husband’s business, called Papermoon International, a clothing export company. However, after some time, Sunita went back to her medical profession and since then has worked with many NGOs on medical health care programmes and health education. After getting twelve years of rich experience, Sunita started her own NGO called Auma Foundation. Her NGO runs various programmes related to health, education, and the environment.

Sunita was born in Mumbai and, since her father relocated to Ahmedabad, she completed her schooling there. Sunita was always interested in studies as a child; however, as she grew older, she developed an interest in sports as well. Biology was her go-to subject since childhood, and hence she decided to make a career in the medical profession. Living in a hostel helped Sunita deal with all the challenges in life.

Inspired by her father, who transitioned into the journey of entrepreneurship, Sunita, as a curious individual, decided to learn the import-export management programme while pursuing her medical internship. However, in her heart, Sunita always shared a love for the medical profession, which she never wanted to let go of. Continuing her journey forward, Sunita worked on issues like menstrual hygiene, nutrition, anemia, CPR training, and emergency procedures for school kids as well as teachers. She also collaborated with different NGOs to set up medical camps for urban slum areas.

Sunita actively participated in food and medical supplies distribution for the needy during the lockdown. This is what gave birth to her foundation, for which she felt the need when COVID hit the country.

Sunita feels that sincerity, confidence, hard work, and perfection are a few qualities that everyone needs to have in their lives.

Sunita says that there was a time when women had to fight for their physical and emotional space in the work area. She adds that upon joining her family firm, she has helped gain a safe and respectable environment for women. As far as her NGO is concerned, Sunita finds peace and internal satisfaction while interacting with kids who live in adverse conditions and yet manage to keep a smile on their faces.

Sunita’s biggest strength has been her mother, who is hard-working, doing everything by herself even at the age of eighty. She also draws inspiration from her elder sister, who helped her build their entire business. Sunita is grateful to her husband, who taught her to balance between the real and the spiritual world.

Sunita believes  that the medical profession is the most respectable and powerful profession that has the ability to change people’s lives for the better. She feels that these days, doctors lack the human touch and kindness that are much needed.

Sunita feels that today’s generation is quite impatient and too calculative about profits. She advises aspiring entrepreneurs to be patient while they put in their investment and also have faith in their product. She adds that they should be prepared to bear certain losses initially, if any, for the long term success of their venture.

Sunita is quite passionate about reading spiritual scriptures, indulging in meditation, and going for long walks. She also enjoys music in her free time.

Her success mantra is not to take one’s physical personality too seriously in life. She urges everyone not to judge their successes and failures by what society thinks, but to create their own standards. Sunita says that youth should follow their passion and chase their dreams no matter what.
