Sunil Kumar Jhingan is a yoga teacher who has been teaching yoga since 1992. Initially, he worked with the Army for three years.
However, Sunil left the Army to follow his passion for yoga and has been teaching it ever since. He is now a well-known yoga teacher and has helped many people improve their physical and mental well-being through his yoga classes. Sunil is dedicated to spreading the benefits of yoga and continues to inspire others with his knowledge and expertise in the field.
After leaving the army, he started his own yoga center in Varanasi and has been teaching students from all over the world. With over 28 years of experience, Sunil's classes are known for their emphasis on proper alignment and breath control, as well as his ability to create a nurturing and supportive environment for his students.
While walking down the lane of his childhood, Sunil shares that his grandfather was a yoga practitioner, and he used to watch his grandfather practicing yoga. Yoga was in his school curriculum too, and that made him practice yoga since childhood. He was also an athlete and a cadet in the NCC. He used to participate in all kinds of sports and adventurous activities during his school days.
However, it was his grandfather's influence that made him realize the true benefits of yoga and how it can improve one's life holistically. Sunil fondly remembers spending time with his grandfather, learning various yoga postures and techniques from him. It was these early experiences that sparked his passion for yoga and set him on the path to becoming a renowned yoga teacher today.
Sunil's journey with yoga so far has been a lifelong one, starting with his grandfather's influence in his early days and never truly leaving him. Despite the activities he pursued during his school days and his time in the army, his passion for yoga never waned. In fact, leaving the army was an opportunity for him to focus on his interests, and he went on to obtain a degree in Psychology, with further courses like Reiki. Sunil is now an expert in these fields and an accomplished yoga teacher.
Sunil acknowledges that joining the army was a mistake because it took him away from his passion for yoga. However, he learned from that mistake and used it as an opportunity to pursue his interests in psychology and further enhance his knowledge in fields such as Reiki. Despite this setback, Sunil has now become an expert in these areas as well as a renowned yoga teacher, proving that it's never too late to follow your dreams.
When asked about his role models, he cites the names of Dr. Shivanand of Divine Society and Dr. B.K.S. Iyengar, two yoga experts who have greatly influenced him.
Sunil's life mantra of believing that “Life is a festival, celebrate it by living it to the fullest" reflects his positive outlook on life. He values living in the present and enjoying every moment to the fullest. Sunil understands that staying healthy is crucial for a happy life and emphasizes the importance of taking care of oneself.
