Dr. Sunil Goyal is a professor and the head of the department of post-graduate studies in Sociology and Social Work at Government College, Indore. Besides, he dons multiple hats as a master trainer of elections, master trainer of climate change, Ph.D. instructor, examination controller, etc.
Sunil was born and brought up in Indore. He grew up in a family of teachers. He studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Indore. He holds a B.Sc, M.Sc., and P.hD.
Talking about his childhood, Sunil says that he was imparted good values both by his teachers and parents. He would participate in extra-curricular activities at school like debates, elocutions, extempore, etc. He says he owes whatever he is today to his teachers and parents for the values they taught him.
Sunil shares that he is a textile engineer by educational qualification. He worked for about seven years with an MNC after his bachelors. From operations to quality control to HRM, he looked after different domains in his corporate career. Later, he took to academia to contribute his bit to higher education in the country. Thus far in his career as an academic, he claims to have completed ten different research projects sponsored by UGC, India Council of Social Sciences, Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, etc. Further, he claims to have written more than thirty books on varied topics from The scope of sociology to micro and macroeconomics.
For Sunil, there is nothing called success as he keeps on changing his goals and dreams. He says that hard work is the only key to success and working for the downtrodden people made him realize it. He urges his fellow researchers and academics to endeavor to make the lives of those less privileged better through their work.
Sunil shares that working in the textile industry he got to experience the struggles and the life challenges of the people working at the ground level. And it made him switch from the textile industry to higher education to work for downtrodden people. After passing the required exam as conducted by the MPPSC, he joined the government higher education sector of MP.
