Sunil’s cooking talent brought him straight from the Marble industry to the Food sector. Today, it has been twenty successful years and his cafe has become quite popular among the youth of Udaipur.

Sunil Dhabhai has been running a cafe in Udaipur under the name ‘Yu China’ for the last twenty years. There he offers Chinese, Mexican, Italian and South Indian cuisines under one roof.

Sunil belongs to Udaipur. However, he did his schooling from Ajmer, Rajasthan. After completing his college, he worked in the marble industry for a few years. Meanwhile, he says, he used to be the life of the parties among his friends as people loved his hand-cooked food and ate it with great fervor. So his friends encouraged him to open his own restaurant and inspired by that, he opened ‘Yu China’, initially with only Chinese cuisine. His business started running well and he kept adding different cuisines to its menu.

Talking about his struggles, Sunil says that he faced a lot of difficulties in the initial days related to staff unavailability and liasoning. But gradually he cobbled up things together and became popular among the youth for being the first fast food offering outlet with authentic taste. Even in the absence of staff, he, along with his wife, managed things well and cooked themselves.

When asked about role models, Sunil says that he considers his mother and sister as his role models because it was from them that he learned about cooking while maintaining taste and quality.

Sunil tells the young generation that hard work is very important to do any work and after that luck comes into picture. Also, he says that it is important to change with time so that we are not left behind.
